I have a W2K DC that is a sms secondary site server. We have plans to demote the DC to a member server. I have been doing some searching to see what issues I may run into and have come up empty. Has anyone attempted this?

Before doing this I would assure that you have temporarily disabled the option "Windows Networking Logon Discovery" as SMS enumerates the DCs for creation of the SMSLOGON-share.
So, before demoting the DC to a MemberServer be sure to have turned off that option as otherwise I could imagine this causing errors.....

Hope this helps !

Cheers,
Chris

By the way, I were able to successfully demote the DC without effecting SMS.

ummm this must be a 2.0 site because it will break stuff in 2003:

when you install a secondary site on a dc, it changes the IIS_WPG local group to a domain group as well as the IWAM/IUSR accounts to domain accounts, when you uninstall it, it deletes those accounts...bad
