Using the Delta server on the Avaya IP Office for SMDR output for Call Accounting software.
I have the delta server and VM PRO with manager on a PC in the phone room. I'm using my call accounting software on a Network PC in an office.
My question is: doe's the IP Office continously collect data daily even if the PC has stopped running due to a computer failure.
Is there a more stable output than the delta server? like through a serial connection?
Does the Delta server HAVE to be on that Network PC with the call accounting software?

sorry for the barrage of questions but I'm having some SMDR issues here. Also wonder if the IP Office has a Buffer that store the data, like the Definity.

Thanks everyone for your support.

I don't believe the IPO buffers SMDR records, but I could be wrong. You can install DS anywhere you like - for your application (assuming your only using it for SMDR?) it would probably be more stable to install it on the PC running the call accounting software.

No there is no serial SMDR output option.

Hi Peter,
Can two Delta servers be running at the same time?
I would like to keep the server running on the tel PC in the phone room as a backup.

thanks

Good question, never tried it. Give it a whirl and let us know!

Peter

Thanks I'll keep you informed.

ok,
here's my results......
installed The CCC SMDR server on two PC'S. And there both collecting Data. I guess this is good for backup puposes.

I have several sites running sevaral delta servers on diff pc's monitoring different sites, havent had more than 1 on 1 pc though

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

Yeah I've done multiple DS's for multiple IPO's, just never tried two DS's monitoring the same IPO before. Good to know it works - thanks safecam.

I seem to remember that two delta servers runnng at one time will double reported statics in a CCC enviroment. Or am I thinking about CCV.

Me

CCV is a component of CCC - it all relies on Archiver, which gets it's data from a single DS. In a CCC environment you would need multiple CCC servers if you want to track agents at multiple sites - unless of course they are on hardphones directly pointed back at the main IPO.

Yet another archaic telecoms industry term - SMDR = Station Message Detail Record (there are variants on that).

Basically a call log but typically a lot more detailed, ie. may include extra fields for how long the call rang etc, and extra records for the full history of a call if it gets transferred, goes via voicemail etc.
