We ordered 65 Dell Optiplex 745 desktop computers for our office. For some reason 4 out of the 65 have been rebooting for no reason whatsoever. Anyone ever experience this?
If you just got them and they are still under warranty, perhaps discussing the possibility of bad power supplies with Dell support would be advisable.
You could also try substituting a "good" box for a "bad" box to get a sense of whether there might be any factors external to the box causing the problem.
I am not an expert at this, so you can see what others say too. My opinion, if you replace a "bad" box with a "good" box and the problems go away, that would seem to eliminate problems in your electrical circuit as a cause of shutdowns.
Based on things I have read in this forum and limited personal experience, I would be suspecting bad power supplies (or other bad components affecting the power supplies)as the cause of your problem, which is why I suggested talking with Dell if the boxes are still under warranty.
I've seen this with other batches from Dell. Inevitably I have a few machines that have had parts rattle loose in shipping. Pop the top and re-seat every connector, card, ram module and the Processor to see if that fixes the problem.
We've been having a similar problem with the same model machine ordered only two weeks ago. For some reason I keep getting the infamous blue-screen-of-death after about 4 minutes of being powered up.
Although the issue seemed to be related to the video card, reinstalling the drivers had no effect. Only Safe Mode was stable but too limited for the user. We're just returning the machine for a new one.

Had a similar issue with a Dell Optiplex GX270, which turned out to be capacitors on the mobo that where bursting. It would cause the system to shut down.
Turns out Dell knows about this and is willing to swap out the mobo even if your warranty is expired.
They told me to look on the mobo for burst or leaking capacitors.
