I have a Dell Latitude running XP Pro on a Microsoft Network. I have two problems, and most likely they're related.
1. When I plug my ethernet cable into the docking station and use the machine, it will not recognize that there is any sort of network. This has happened with two different docking stations. When I plug the cable directly into the machine, the network works fine.
2. Frequently, when I dock my computer, XP will not finish starting up. It will simply freeze at the screen with the logo and circulating bar. Again, undocked it works fine. In addition, sometimes when it does actually work with the docking station, the coloring on the monitor is incorrect and the peripherals stop working (including the monitor) when the login screen comes up. This has happened with two separate docking stations.
Thanks!
Mike
