Hi
Until yesterday I had a scanner and adsl modem connected to the two USB ports on the port replicator which my Dell Inspiron 7000 plugs into. Everything was working great until today when I cannot get any devices on those ports to be recognised..!!!!
If I undock and plug any device into the USB port on the back of the laptop it is recognised and works fine.
I have re-installed the device drivers but no luck.
Help.!!!
Robert

Interesting, I'd contact Dell support and see if there is an FAQ on the subject (you can't be the only one in the world with this problem). Have you recently upgraded any drivers? What OS?

I've contacted Dell and they haven't been able to help. I have not updated any drivers or changed any software. It just stopped working!!!. I am using win2kpro.

Unplug your USB devices.

Start, Run, devmgmt.msc
Go down to the USB section and expand the tree.
Uninstall with a right-click any USB Root Hubs found.
Restart the computer and let Windows rebuild the Root Hubs.

Thanks bcastner...I deleted the USB Root Hub, re-booted and now have the USB connections back on the port replicator.
