I am trying to clean up a Dell Inspiron 2650 notebook with Windows XP Pro SP1 installed. It was on a novell network and is now part of a windows 2000 and xp network. When I logon a message keeps appearing "Error loading Module: fldrclnr.dll not found". Yet this file is in the i386 folder and also in the ntbackup folder with the same file size and datestamp. I can't find any explanation for this. What might cause it?

run msconfig and disable any straggling novell entries
remove novel from add/remove programs
remove all novel registry entries
Run Spyware Adware programs The usual
Otherwise you may need to totally 'clean up' the laptop a quick format would quite happily sort it out.
I always found novell easy to start with but a total pain to get rid of

Howdy:

You received some good advice concerning cleaning up your system, however it will do nothing to stop the error message...

The fldrclnr.dll file is the Desktop Cleanup Wizard. You can do a search for it online and download a version into your c:\Windows\system32 AND c:\windows\system32\dllcache folders..
