Something new everyday...

I installed XP Pro and it will not pickup the NIC/Modem, I have tried every driver on dells site with no luck. I have ran a couple diags and they both will say no NIC found.

It's a onboard NIC/Modem combo

Any ideas on how to force a OS find the hardware would be great...

Also the 1394 Adapter and the Linksys wireless adapters are there.

Thanks in advance for your time

Rich

What does device manager say about your hardware? What did you have before?

It is fine no issues, it was squawking about the NIC adapter until I installed the Linksys Wireless card but then was fine.

Basically the onboard nic/modem has disappeared and it has no idea it's there.

and after 10 years of working on computers wouldnt you think I would have at least taken a peak at what was there?

Well I didnt and yes im kicking my own @$$ rigth now lol

I never cease to amaze myself!

Found it,

MiniPCI was diabled in the BIOS

DOH!!
