I wonder if anyone can help.
My colleague is in charge of our office diary (located on our Exchange Server 5.5 SP3). My colleague is the Folder owner and everyone else in my office (apart from the administrator) has read only permission.
However some, but not all diary entries that my colleague makes are deleted.
I have asked my colleague if he/she deletes them manually and he/she swears blind that they simply just disappear.

Please help

Thanks

I have had the same problem with some of the public folders in my Exchange organization. I have checked and there aren't any age limits set on the public information store folders or is there a permission problem. In my particular case, the items that disappeared were calendar items that had been on the calendars for days. This problem has happened to multiple people. I am unable to recover the lost items using "tools, recover deleted items". It's like the items disappeared into thin air.

The good news: I haven't received any more complaints since we've upgraded from Exchange 5.5 sp3 to Exchange 5.5 sp4. I'm hoping that upgrading the service pack has corrected the problem. It's too soon to tell since the servers have only been upgraded for about two months. If the problem comes back, I'll be calling Microsoft.

We had the same problem in our organisation. After months of frustration we phoned Microsoft who informed us that our pagefile was not large enough. Try checking that your pagefile is set to the spec recommended by Microsoft for the Ram size you are employing. Chances are it will need to be increased.

Hope this helps

Awesome! Now I wonder why Microsoft didn't put this information in their knowledge base..... Thanks so much for sharing this valuable information!
