Hi,

On Avaya CM3.1 S87xx platform, just wondering is it safe enough to delete the TAC's from trunks, but keep a record of the TAC's to use only when needed in testing etc? It was recommended to us by our BP to remove the TAC's, they just didn't outline exactly how to do it or if there would be any fallout elsewhere on the system.

You cannot have a trunk-group without a TAC.
Maybe you should consider a new BP.

LOL, that could be just around the corner.......
Thanks for that!!

You can change trunk-groups and turn off TAC dialing.
You can also change the TAC for all trunk-groups to 4 digit numbers to free up single digits used that tie up your dialplan.

Dial Access? n

Try add trunk-group next and add a trunk-group without filling in a TAC code. Proof...

Ah, I think they mean disabling the Dial Access, that seems a lot more reasonable an answer.

Thanks again.

probably, bad things can happen when you leave dial access = yes.
