Deleting shared folders

A scenario:
I am the 'owner' of a shared folder. Others only have read rights to it. I delete the folder and the contents.

Isn't it also deleted from all the others as well? This is a shared folder for a mailing list.

Yes. Usually , that is the way its supposed to work. But, if the mailbox and/or postoffice maintenance has not been kept up, you may see residuals of items.
