deleting linked tables doesn't work

Hi there,

I have a bunch of linked tables in my Access database. The sources can be Excel worksheets, normal textfiles or other Access tables. Problem: I can't delete some of these linked tables anymore. Pressing delete+yes doesn't help. Deleting them in VBA doesn't work either. I have no idea why not. Anyone?

Deleting these tables using a macro and the DeleteObject action doesn't work either. I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. Does anybody have an explanation?
