Been having an issue with a user of mine. Certain emails that he receives from within the comapny domain, go straight into the "junk email" folder. We have set his junk email options to no filtering. So, everything should technically go to his inbox. But certain emails still go into his junk email folder. How is this possible?

I have done everything I can think of to straighten out this issue, but it is still happening. My only step left is to just re-create his mailbox and start from scratch.

My question...how can I delete his old mailbox and create him a new one with the same email address, to make this as painless a process as possible?

You could start with extracting his mail, Contacts etc. to a PST.
You then delete the account and let the system 'refresh' until permanently deleted.

You then re-create the user and import the PST.
Done.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all.

Export the mail to .pst

How to configure an account to use the ExMerge utility in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003

Then, in ADUC, right click the user account>Exchange Tasks>delete mailbox.

Go into ESM and navigate to the storage group>mailbox store>mailboxes. Right click and RUN CLEANUP AGENT. Give it a few minutes to run, then refresh the view. You should see the mailbox with a red "X" on it. Right click on it and PURGE.

Once that's done, go back to ADUC and user account>Exchange Tasks>create mailbox. Give it a few minutes, then exmerge the data back into the mailbox.

Pat, although your steps are 100% accurate, are you not just saying the same thing as I did, but holding his/her hand all the way?
For the sake of user-education, you shouldn't.
