HI!
guys,

This is not a pure rexx question. But as this forum is relatively close to my query, i m putting it here. The question is related to MVS/TSO.

If some user has access to PDS in SHR mode, another user trying to allocate the PDS in OLD mode wont be able to do it until first user frees the PDS.

Then How the above thing is possible using TSO/ISPF editor where we browse into PDS and put 'D' in front of member we want to delete, although the PDS is used by some other user.

What commands or utility executes in background when we give 'D' in front of member.

Thanx in advance.

Try looking in the ISPF Services manual under LM commands. The LM suite of tools is the functionality behinds most of ISPF options 2 and 3. With LM commands you can:
* Get member lists
* Compress PDS's
* Delete and rename PDS's
* A lot more!!

The last time I looked it worked only with PDS, not libraries.
