Somehow we have a message in the deleted items folder with no from or nor to address. When we try to empty the deleted items folder or delete that specific item, we get the message:

Outlook has generated errors and will be closed by windows. An error log is being created.

We have searched for that error log and cannot find it.

How can we get rid of that deleted item?

Thanks.

You need to find out whether the problem is caused by the file or application. Is the e-mail in a .pst / .ost file or are you connecting direct to a Mail server?

PST.
If the e-mail is sitting in a .pst file copy the file to another machine with Outlook and open it from there. This will verify whether its the app or file.

OST.
If the file is sitting in a .OST file, delete the file, connect to your server and re-synchronise.

Direct connection.
If the machine connects directly to the mail server, Set-up a profile to the mailbox from a different machine and see if the file is still there.

If the problem is within the file you'll have to Export to a new .pst EXCULDING the deleted items. If the problem is within the app. Run a SP over it or re-install.

Give me a shout if you have any other queries.
