Hi, for some reason I uninstalled Internet Explorer (I thought I was getting rid of an update). Now when I start my computer I get a blue screen and just the cursor, none of the desktop icons load or the task bar load, and when I hit ctr-alt-del, nothing is running in the task manager.
I tried using a bood disk I downloaded from bootdisk.com, but the disk was not recoginised. I tried putting in the ME disk in the cd drive, but couldn't get it to run.
I was wondering if anybody else has run into this problem and if it was possible to reinstall Internet Explorer.
Thanks, Michael

Find one of those free offer CD's(AOL,Earthlink,ATT etc.) and bypass their install go to windows explorer and find msie.exe I think, then run the setup fron that folder. That will install MSExplorer.

Have you try to boot in safe mode? If you can you can do a restore.

Hi, thanks for the responses. I have tried starting using a boot disk, I tried system restore, and nothing happened.

Have you tried safe mode and run msconfig where IE does not start.
If not sounds like a reload to me.

Re-install my friend. You will lose all of your current programs and settings, but your documents should be in tact. Don't format the hard drive

Thanks for the posts, I ended up re-installing Windows, and now everything is back to normal.
