I install a linux redhat 6.1 and I uninstall it to put Window back on. I can't figure out how to get rid of the linux partition. So I can install window again. I was wondering if there is a software to allow you to repatition your hard drive.
boebox is absolutely right. Partition Magic is THE TOOL for this job. However, if you are not happy with your current distro, why not try a more up to date version. Red Hat.s 7.2 is great and SuSe's 8.0 (due in stores on April 22nd) shows a lot of promise.
Provided your bios setup has a "low level format" you can use this to delete the linux partitions.I have used it frequently with success. And its free.
there is also a little utility floating around the net called zapdisk. If you want to completely clear out what's on your drive and repartition it, this is a great tool. It'll erase the first sector or 2 from your drive destroying the partition table, then just reboot and partition with fdisk.
I'll admit I tend to use PQMagic most of the time, but if you don't have access to it, zapdisk took me under a minute to download on a 36.6 modem. A quick search of a major search engine should locate the file for you.
fdisk utitlities from all usable os (os2, *bsd, linux, win nt based, beos etc.) can manipulate linux partitions. just the simplier and stupidier ones (win98, me, dos,...) doesn;t have such a utility
