Good Day,

Does anyone out there know of or use a server based utility for Exchange 5.5 which can automatically delete email from users mailboxes after thresholds are met(days, size etc).

I am searching for a server based tool, rather than Outlook features like autoarchiving.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

If you select a mailbox in Exchange Admin and go to the tools menu, there is an option to 'Clean Mailbox', this gives a few criteria including by date, sensitivity, whether its been read or not etc. If you highlight a number of mailboxes they are all cleaned.
Apparently the Backoffice Resource Kit has a utility called Mailbox Cleanup Agent which is automated, but I don't know about that.

There is a better tool that is supplied with exchange service pack 3 and up. It is called Mailbox manager and you would be able to set up an automated schedule with it.
