Delete Default Contact List

How can you stop outlook from accessing the default .pst file? I have tried deleting it and pointing to a new .pst and still when i go to do a new email and hit the "to" button it shows 2 contact lists. The new one and the default one. The default one has no information in it so I would like to get rid of it totally.

Have you tried making your changes in the Data File Management box?
File menu -> Data File Management.....add your new pst to the list and then delete the original one.

This has the earmarks of a corrupt profile. Try creating a new profile in Control Panel. Then open outlook with your new profile & point it to the correct .pst file. You will have to recreate your mail services in the new profile.
