Delete corrupt .ldb file 2

I have been following some forums about .ldb files and believe that they can be a lot of troubles. Sometimes they do keep hanging around when everybody's logged off. It's hell but if there really isn't anybody logged on then there is a simpel solution:
Open notepad, go to files/save, save as MyDatabase.ldb and use copy to overwrite the corrupt .ldb file.
Then DELETE, yes...

Nothing else worked, but this did!!! Thank you so so much for this idea - I wouldn't have thought I could overwrite the .ldb, but it let me.
