Hello,

If a GL batch has been posted is there any possibility to delete it or to delete the coresponding rows in the database?

Please, I need your advice!

Thanks

Hello Jay,

First of all let me thank your help.
My Accpac version is 5.2 and the reason for deleting a GL Batch (for year 2004) is because one of accounting person make a mistake.
Now, we tried to fix it!
We tried to post into a previous year and do a reverse journal into 2004, but although the button "allow posting to previous year" is checked - the autoreverse option is
still inactive.
Also, we tried manually do the reversal by entering or importing a batch, but in this case - the transaction amounts will be doubled even if the balances will be ok.

So,it has to be a way to repair this entry batch via the tables - but I'm not sure about all the tables which needs to be updated!
Any advice will be appreciate!
Many thanks,
Robert

Too many tables are affected for you to try and do this yourself, it requires an expert.

But you've been doing it the right way. I would tell my clients this:

1. Export that batch to Excel
2. Edit the spredsheet and reverse the entry amounts (change credits to debits)
3. Import the batch and post it.

If any of the accounts are expense accounts, you'll see double the entries in the posting journal because posting to a previous year means Accpac redoes the closing entries.
