Numerous processor speeds, 450 - 2 GHz, RAM from 128 to 512. All systems loaded with Windows XP and experiencing intermittent problems with "Delayed Write Failed" and then it goes further with the file and location...problem is, it is different on different machines. This can occur when the system is freshly booted or if it has been sitting for a period of time. I realize that I have not provided a great deal of information, but that is all I have. The problem is so intermittent that its making me crazy. Usually rebooting the machine resolves the issue, but on some systems it happens again and again....some of the systems have a centurion guard chip for security on them, but the error even shows up on them and the error wasn't there before it was locked down.
we're about at our wits end, hardware all tests out OK and I just can't imagine we have that many hard drives that are bad ever since we installed the OS. We have not installed SP1 for XP yet, but I don't have high hopes for that resolving the issue. We had thought maybe it was related to the Novell Client, but have since had the error on systems without the client.
Post probably seems a little flighty, probably due to my finding nothing research wise for the problem. Have found MS knowledgebase Q321733 which describes the problem well, but for W2K, but I'm going to look into the solution on the XP side anyway....
Thanks, Heather
