Hello IP Office Gurus,

Here is the setup we're trying to accomplish:

Example....

Caller calls in:
Ext 101 + 102 - Immediate Ring
Ext 103 + 104 + 105 - Delay Ring
Ext 101 - after 30 seconds caller goes to this VM box

Setup: VM Pro R8 with a Squared Key Setup

We understand the first 2 steps, but having a challenge getting the 30s delay to a particular mbx.

Any tips/suggestions?

Hi MA,

I would do it as follows,

Set up initial Huntgroup which rings 101 and 102 Collectively, with an overflow time of 30 secs, then 2 overflow groups with 103, 104 and 105 in 1 group and then 101 in the last group. Turn VM on the original huntgroup and set the VM timeout to 60 secs. Then under VMPro create a huntgroup "Leave" callflow for the original group with a leave mail or voice question box to the appropriate mailbox.

If you can follow that, it will be easy for you :) If not, I'll try and make it clearer and step by step.

Thanks IPOLackey. Will give that a try. Because this is a squared key setup [line appearanced] -- having hunt groups, won't pose any potential issues for incoming calls?

I would do the following. Create a hunt group with (1) phantom user as a member. Do not add 101 or 102 to this group. If you do then calls will not only ring on the incoming line, but also on the call appearance button on each phone (and this will confuse the end-user). Ringing will still be controlled by immediate and delayed on the line appearances themselves which you have already taken care of. Point your inbound call route to this new group. Set the vm answer time to 30 seconds for the group. Then, under vmpro do as IPOLackey states and create the huntgroup mailbox with a leave action and point it to a leave mail action which will specify x101 as the mailbox to leave the message.

It shouldn't do. It will ring on the required phones, and others should be able to hit the highlighted key if needs be. But test as I haven't setup like that for a while.

If you have the actual POTS line appearances (and they are set to immediate ring/delayed ring) and you are apart of a hunt group (and the inbound call route is set to that hunt group for destination) it will ring on both the line appearances (because they are set to ring) and it will ring on the users call appearance as well (because of their membership in the group). Unless it has changed with R8.1, I just dealt with this about 6 months ago with an R8.

I just tested it and you are right. I don't know when that changed, but with the R8.1 test IPO I have it only rings on the line button even though the phone was apart of the inbound call group as well.

Line appearance is really just an attempt of the IPO developers to make people happy that have a hard time to part with them but it is a bad attempt at best because it is just not working well as a key system.
They should just get rid of it again and have everybody happier after they get used to the different setup (takes a couple of days for even the thickest of customers.

Rant End

Thanks folks. I have set it up the way you have suggested and appears to function properly with the exception of the voicemail answering after 10s or so. Once the phones which are set to "delay" ring once, maybe twice the voicemail picks up.

I have a checked the voicemail answer time in the hunt group is set to 30s. All of the users have a no answer time of 20s and voicemail is turned on for the hunt group with the 1 phantom user.

Not sure what I am missing?
