Delay in moving among mailbox

Hi,

I've exchange 2003 server and outlook2002, all with the latest service patches. One of my user is experiencing delay in moving between his mailboxes. It said retrieving mail from the server. Has anyone see this before, please help.

Is this user accesing more than one mailbox at a time, or using multiple profiles?

When all else fails, read the book!

usually network issue. put him in cache mode and this will go away

Check how many items the user has in his most used Outlook folders, inbox, calendar etc and ensure there are no more than 5000 in the mail folders and 3000 in the calendar.
