Hi,
I have 2 BCM's connected together in my lab(LAN to LAN via crossover cable). It takes 4 seconds to establish a call over IP trunks and I'm dialing only 3 digits. Is this a normal behavior or I need to change some settings.

you can speed it up

How have you programmed your BCMs have you programmed it with call routing or do you have an access code for the VOIP pool

If you have two BCMS linked via voip

BCM A extension range 200

BCM B extension range 300

If you setup the following on BCM A

Add your VOIP trunks to a pool in the example I will use pool I

Lines 1-4 in pool I

Create a destination code of 2

Create a route 2 or what ever and set the route type as private

associate the route with the destination code.

On BCM B do the same as A and change the destination code to 3 etc.

You should find the BCM is quicker at dialing between sites.

I am assuming you have all the rest set up so all you need to do is to change your route to private on both BCMs and program the extension number in the private number on the target line on each BCM

Hope this makes sense.

Changing DN type from public to private in Route setup did the trick. No delay in call setup.
Thank you mrmarshall very much!

I currently have the setup as spoken in mrmarshall's reply. I have about a 3 second delay after number dialed. I have noticed that in the Target Line>Received number fields if I try to put 221 for example in the Private field it tells me MUST BE 4 DIGITS. Well, I have looked in Telephony Services>General Settings>Dialing plan>Private network and it has Private DN length set as 3 and Type as CDP. SO is this functioning correctly?? So is about a 3 second delay correct??
