delay in dialling

We have 2 pri cards, and asked the Meridian engineer to route all calls prefixed with "9" to go to card 1, and all calls prefixed with "5" to go to card 2.

This works fine ... except ... any call to the "5" line has a 8 second delay before it starts dialling. If the user presses "#" after the number, then it dials straight away.

We have no such problems with the "9" line.

5711 = long delay
5711# = dial straight away

I am assuming that there is some parameter somwhere - how can I make the "5" card match the "9" line in terms of the dial delay ?

yep.. you'll need to look at the digit 5 to see what it is doing, sounds like a dsc, it should be ac2, then bars would need to be set up for any digits dialed after ac2, it may just be an acod, either way the delay is caused by the setup not being right, if it is ac2 then the "engineer" used spn bars another great to slow down a pri sothat it works like a ground start analog...if you need help setting this up prt the dn 5, post that and i'll try to walk you through it...

Look at the FLEN in the dial plan for 5. If all you are dialing is 5711, then put a 4 in there. If you dial 7 digits then adjust the FLEN. I had this problem with the new ATT circuits, but this fixed it right up.
