customer needs AA to pick-up after 4 rings during the day and night. During day, receptionist (ext. 100) answers calls and overflow goes to AA. At night, receptionist presses Night Button and all phones ring and then need to go to AA.

Is the only way to set this up using principal user for the lines (801-809) with extension 100 as the principal user (since it's in PBX mode)?

I tried adding an adjunct 7300 with lines 801-809 and have principal user for them, but it won't allow this since it is just putting the Pool 70 button on extension 7300 vs. each individual line.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Is ext. 100 the assigned as AA? If so it will aways follow her cover rings. I would try assigning a different ext. as AA, one that don't currently have VM assigned to it like a common area (lobby, breakroom, etc.)

Take an unused calling group. I use 791, it's the last 3-digit group in set-up space.

Assign pool 70 to group 791.

Set the overflow of 791 to the Voice Mail calling group (770?). Under Number Based Overflow, set it to 99. Under Time Based Overflow, set it to about 20 to 25 seconds (it's time, not rings, so tailor fit it).

In the Merlin Messaging, make a mailbox 791 and set it to the Auto Attendant.

Now calls "ring" in 791, and cover to voice mail and are answered by the Auto Attendant.

Night Service on the Operator phone still causes other extensions to ring on incoming, but the 791 overflow still causes the calls to go to the AA after X number of rings.

Thanks TTT. That is exactly what I was looking for. I knew there had to be a way without using the receptionist's extension as AA.
