I have been trying to deinstall an sms client running win2k pro but it seems that it never completely finish the deinstallation process. After running the 20clicln.bat file, I double-checked the control panel just to see if the Systems Management icon was removed. In my case, it did not. When I opened it, the site still shows and so are the components but their status are nil (blank). How can I completely deinstall this client? I also tried to use the registry by adding SMS Client Deinstall = true.

In the source folder where you found 20clicln.bat you should also find hammer.exe. Run that program and watch task manager until you see hammer leave the listing. Reboot. That should take care of everything.

But if it doesn't ... use zap.exe (in the same folder as hammer) to remove the blank icons (delete %systemroot%\smsrc.cpl and smscfg.cpl). Ensure that HKLM\software\microsoft\sms is also removed, and that %windir%\ms is also deleted. There may be more SMS traces but they generally don't get in the way.

Was unable to manually remove 1 client, couldn't get rid of the registry keys. The removal tool client builder worked very well. Thanks for the link
