I am trying to replace an existing PRI T1 from AT&T with a CBeyond PRI working thru a Cisco router/ IAD. At one point we had the sig. grp. in-serv and the B channels inserv-idle
but could not make outgoing calls. The existing ckt. is set for b8zs, esf, conn. network, isdn-pri signaling, protocol version a. CP is a TN767C- no test jacks on it. We changed protocol on the DS1 from 'a' to 'b' and changed the trunk grp. from TIE to CBC- never found a config that would work.
Thanks for any ideas!

Are you saying the D and B channels are no longer working? Do you know how to make a x-over cable in order to test Textron68's theory? And I could agree that an x-over cable may be required.

Pins 1&2 need to cross over and be punched down to 4&5 and vice versa.

Thanks guys! The CBeyond tech said a crossover cable was necessary so I made one and the ckt. came up in-service. I'm thinking my tests on the DS1 board 138-146 wouldn't have passed if there was a cable problem. It seems to be a protocol or switch type mismatch. His IAD seemed happy with the signal from the Definity, just couldn't complete calls.Even the test-643- for ISDN-LINK passed.

The rest of the story- The IAD clock source was set wrong. I was getting slips and error seconds constantly. They reconfigured the IAD with the dual T1 card and set the sync source to clock from the AT&T T1. Before that, the signal group was inserv, B channels inserv, and in and out calls were ok but faxes and credit card machines would not connect. I also had to change the outgoing caller ID to send a 10-digit number that was recognized by CBeyond. My sync would not stay set to the T1 card in my switch- it would immediately go back to the tone-board. Thanks for your help!
