I’m new to the Definity G3, 8700 world.
I’m presently working on a team supporting 1500 users.
I have pick up how to do basic Moves Adds and changes
I wanted to know is there any training beside the Avaya University. (Can’t afford the cost)
I’m looking for instructor led classes or CBT or videos that will really give me a handle on programming VDN's ,Vectors, ARS, CMS etc..
I have 14 years in telecom 6 years in networking
Any info would helpful.
Thanks

Avaya has excellent cdrom s for training, but last time I checked they were fairly expensive. They are nice because U can jump around on what U need to learn. And then U can give them to your backup to learn the system. I have some older issues of the cdroms, but they were before ASA, so they would probabaly be only to use to U if aren't using ASA.
I am available for training a prices a faction of Avayas prices .My email is on thread thread690-1127093

Walt Medak and Associates ( offers Basic, Advanced and Call-Center classes at their location in Portland Oregon. I've been to both the Basic and the Advanced classes and feel they were a great investment.

A lot of knowledge (education) can be gotten by downloading the Adminsrator basic and advanced guides as well as guides on maintenance, then continue to come to tek-tips.com. If you have no real background in telecommunications, then you should consider some basic course in telecommunications basics which you should be able to afford. Information is out here you just need to go after it.

I agree, the DEFINITY System’s Little Instruction Adminsrator basic and advanced guides Books are excellent. They are much easier to use than the huge manuuals.

I'll second the classes at Walk Medak. The instructor there was very knowlegable and did a good job of teaching his courses. I've had the advanced administrator class and the tech that works for me had the basic. The classes might not make you a Tier 3 service tech, but they will teach you how to maintain your company Definity PBX.
