I am servicing an existing system and hope to find some sort of standard for where individual extensions are terminated on the 110 field.

do you have access to the PBX, the port of the station is reflected on the 110. is the 110 labeled with anything like 01a or numbers similar?

On switches V9.x and newer you can enable the Station Self Display feature. You put in the code on a display phone and the switch will give you the extension number and the port.

Yes, I have access, Yes, it's "kinda" labeled. Trouble is that the labels don't seem to have anything to do with the extension numbers. Is there a code I am not familiar with? ome phones are 10xx series extensions, some are 20xx, some are 30xx, on up to 60xx. There does not seem to be any patern to the 110 layout that I have seen.

Also I would like to know how to identify extensions from the phone set. many have no labels and many are labeled wrong. there is one display phone on site.
