Took over this PBX as a favor to General Manager. Definity G3siV11.

After several back and forth emails with GM, I find that none of the Housekeeping codes post to PMS. User gets a short stuttered dial tone after dialing the code, but no update in PMS (PMS works fine otherwise).
Found Housekeeper Information Configuration set to act-nopms. Changed to act-pms according to what I see in the system manual. Now user gets error tone when dialing the housekeeping codes. Am I missing something? PMS vendor sees no activity on the link when code is dialed.
Thanks in advance.

Bump.
No replies. Perhaps someone will answer this: Am I reading the dox correctly that the setting should be act-pms instead of act-nopms? Strange that we get the stutter tone after dialing the code when set to act-nopms.

I think that you will need to work with your PMS vendor on this. They will need to know the feature access codes that your are using for the different states.

bleebrant, "PMS vendor sees no activity on the link when code is dialed." is a clue I have already been in touch with PMS vendor. They have the codes and they see no activity. Perhaps you could answer the question at hand? thanks.

have you tried a list trace station when he is dialing the pms codes? post trace results here if you can

The housekeeping codes are set in feature access codes.
There are six client room status codes here. I think the defaults are *81 thru *86.
Under system hospitality, Housekeeper information = act-pms
Housekeeper id = 0 (unless you plan to give each maid their own code so you can "track" them)
Guest room extensions should have a COS which has Client room = y
From a guest room, *81 is dialed - this sends a status of "1", If PMS acknowledges, you hear, "bum, bum, bum", if they do not acknowledge, error tone.

The PMS defines what each status code is, 1 thru 6, the phone system just sends it.

If you want to track which maid entered which code, you change the housekeeper id field. If you have 20 maids, change to "2". Each maid is assigned a two digit code. Each maid then enters *81 thru *86, followed by their maid code.

If the PMS supports this, you can then track the number of rooms cleaned by each maid.

From what you are describing, you have it set up correctly, but PMS is not setup to accept maid status codes.

If you do a list PMS, you should see a list of these errors where the code was entered in the room, but PMS rejected.

Thanks Busster! I have verified witrh the PMS company that the PMS codes are setup in the PMS. I found the Housekeeper Information Configuration set to act-nopms when I first looked at it. Strange thing was, when the code(s) were dialed, they would get the stuttered dial tone. When I set it to act-pms, they get dead air or error tone.
I'm going to set it to act-pms and do a restart-4 tomorrow around lunch. Also, verified COS Client Room=Y. Thanks again!

what do you see when you do a list pms?

tonysprout, make sure you do a save trans before the reset 4 as all changes made during the day will be wiped out!!
