We connected ISDN-PRI to our G3R10, lines look ok, outgoing calls are ok, the problem are inbound calls, we have several 800 numbers pointing those lines but we have only fast busy tone when we dial in. What is the correct configuration for a 4ESS T1? or what is the right DNIS configuration?

On the trunk group, is "direction" set to two-way? Can the COR on the trunk group call the COR on the station or VDN? Have you verified that your service provider is outpulsing the correct DNIS digits?

These are the only things I can think of that would create fast busy on inbound calls only.

Without knowing anything else, it looks as if the problem is in the T-1 provider. Even if the DNIS is wrong, it should still come in and go to the operator. Work with your T-1 carrier and have them send you the digits for the extension you are calling them from. It should ring your phone (if you have enough line appearances). So far a the DNIS goes, it has to match the extension of whatever you want it to hit, VDN, Extension, etc.

Something else you could check is the third page of the trunk group form to make sure you are not inserting or deleting digits, if it's not necessary. It is unlikely that is the problem, but it happened to me once.

I'll check all the suggestions, those T1's ehere working in a diferent PBX (rck spectrum) at the moment we move them to Definity we start having problems,
at this point they are two-ways, country code 1, protocol a (4ESS I think). Carrier said they are sending 4 digs as DNIS, where I an check what DNIS spect?

Thanx to all
J

Find out what the trunk access code is for the trunk. Do the command " list trace tac {trunk TAC Code}. This should give you some clues. The dialed digits are the digits the LEC are sending you.

Thanks
Chris

We tryied to trace TAC, but it does not display information on incoming calls, only for outgoing, also we tryied the same with lines that are working normally and the same situation, we can only see outgoing calls information...
is there any parameter that we need to activate to get trace info on incoming calls???

Thanx J

Sounds like you have the wrong call type on inbound. I usually setup my PRI trunk groups as CBC (call by call) and then use page three to manipulate the incoming digits and service type. ex: sdn, sddn, mega800 ...... # of digits inbound what to strip if any or replace. Without knowing what the central office is setup for, it is hard to say what you need to do.

Thanx everyone, T1s are up and running finaly, there where some changes that I dont completely understand but here they are:
commpaunding: Mu-law
Service Type : TIE
Digits Handling: enbloc/enbloc
Numbering format: pub-unk
this last opens a isdn-public-unknown-numbering table to administer the spected digits to be received.

I hope this sounds familiar...

Thanx again to every one...
