Definity DS1 to Brooktrout issue.

The DS1 says it is working properly, and the Brooktrout says it sees all of the lines, and that they are idle, but when you try to fax, it can't do it, and when you dial into the fax number, it returns a busy signal. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is it a provider issue?

PS: This is on a move, I haven't changed anything in the DS1 settings, and it worked immediately before the move.

For what it's worth the system says that the ports assigned to this trunk are all out of service, but I don't know if that is what is causing the problem, or unrelated.

Is the DS1 a tie trunk or PRI? If PRI is the D channel ok? In both cases the DS1 card is connected via a hunk of type 5 or better wire. Did you flip transmit and receive on one side? The wiring is 1-2 to 4-5.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. We managed to resolve the issue last night after about five hours. It was set as a tie, so no D channel was present. And your cable guess was right on. When I built the adapter for the cable, I accidentally rolled one of the pairs. Thus it was getting connectivity enough to please the brook trout, but not enough to actually work.
