Is it possible to restrict a group of stations so that Group A cannot dial Group B internally?

Here's the scenario:
Their are three separate companies with stations in the Definity.
Company A:
- Stations 1500-1550

Company B:
- Stations 1400-1499

Company C:
- Stations 2200-2250

Should I configure a COR for each company to restrict internal dialing to other company extensions? I am new to programming so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do this with the COR's of the stations. Setup 3 cor's, one for each range, and in the COR restrict it from calling the other COR's. Just a thought.

the solution is 'tenant partitioning', but i've never had to do this. I think in a G3r you can have up to 20 partitions.

Calling permissions can be micromanaged by CORs. This begins on page three of "dispay COR X". The numbers on this page represent the "groups" you referenced. Study this page and you should figure it out.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give that a try.

How difficult is setting up "tenant partitioning" and how does it differ from COR configurations?

well its a right to use feature. if you don't have it stroked to 'y' under 'disp sys cust', you'll have to contact Avaya and pay for it. i'll try to dig some info up on it right quick.

TelcoTech:
I checked disp sys cust and it is stroked N for tenant partitioning.

Be careful making changes in the COR's. Most of the time they are set to differant values for differant types of internal restristions. ( cor1 local calls, 5 long distance, 6 international and so on.) You might have to create one for every one that is in place now and then restrict them from calling each other.

If I want a certain group of Company B extensions to be restrcited from dialing out (local, LD, or intl) unles they enter a FAC...would this be configured using CORs as well?

Tenant Partitioning – splits the DEFINITY into a maximum of 100 small DEFINITYs, each with their own attendant & trunks. This application has been developed for world trade centres.
