I'm replacing a Definity system in a hotel where none of the cables are labelled for the rooms and there is no documentation for the port/extension configuration. Can someone tell me how and what I would need to access the Definity system so that I could view how the extensions are assigned to the ports?

Do you know if the system is connected to the network? You could use Putty set up for an Avaya session (mainly vt100 emulation / telnet) to log in to the system, but you would definitely need to know the username and password for the system. Some systems have custom users but many of them use usernames like Cust. There might also be an INADS dialin line that you can use a modem to connect to or a system terminal near the system you can use. I'm not sure offhand what you have to do to connect a computer locally to the Definity (I always either used Putty or ASA remotely or used the system terminal locally). You would then just have to use List Station to see what ports the extensions are on.

Once you are able to gain access to the PBX "list extension-type" and "list station".

You may find it advantageous to ask an Avaya Partner to dial in and run all these reports if you don't want to figure out the credentials for the system.
