Hello everybody. Im having some issues, so I hope someone can help me. Im gonna explain the problem.
I work in a Hotel and we have an internet access in all the rooms with a network cable. So if a guest wants to connect to internet with his laptop it need to plug the cable, but sometime the guest have a static IP and he is not able to connect to our internet service because de IP, so we need to go up and clear the guest IP and put it to dynamic to get full access to internet. Is there some software, hardware or something to just ingnore the static IP and pass over it, so the guest laptop connect to internet without clearing the IP?

Uh, no---you have to have an IP address in the same subnet as the LAN, whether it be static or dynamic.

/

tim@tim-laptop ~ $ sudo apt-get install windows
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package windows...Thank Goodness!

By virtue of setting a static IP, you disable the dynamic IP assignment.

Cannot have both...

As long as the particular computer isn't locked down too tight by the person's IT department, resetting it is very easy.

Might be worth creating a short cheat sheet for the rooms and adding to the guest directory as an info page.

Thanks for the response. I decided to perform a manual for the guest on his room showing the steps to connect to our network in case of non connection.
