I have an avaya phone system and when we first moved into the building ext 10 had its message light lit up even though ext. 10 did not have any messages. I did a google search and found that there was a default mail box at ext.xxx. I logged into that mail box and there was old messages. deleted them and the light went out. I then changed the auto attendant mailbox to ext 10 and all was well. However today the light is lit and there are not messages. I called the system and left a message but it is not in mailbox 10. I forgot what that mail box number was and I can not find the post / page that said what the default system mailbox number is. How can I tell where the messages are going? Thanks

Did you look in #306 .I assume you have a partner
You can cancel the message light with F10

General mailboxes are 9991, 9992, 9993, and 9994 for Auto Attendant 1, 2, 3, and 4. 10 is the default owner of all of them. The default Night menu Dial-0/timeout setting is Record a message in the General Mailbox, so that's why messages get there. Check each of those mailboxes, then go the the night menu on the auto attendants and change the 0/timeout setting
