I have had on several different occasions (periods, every other week or so) found that the default printer had changed with no help from me. Security is set on unit, so tomfoolery is out of the question. Has anyone else ever seen this? I would love a clue.

Thanks so much,

How can I tell? I don't even know what that is!

Sorry for my inexperience!

Talked to someone else! We do use that!

Thanks,

Hi,

As you are on a Network and use NDPS, it could be assumed that you are also using downloadable profiles (your network admin can tell you for sure.)

If this also is true, they are able to set the default printer to the one which you desire by modifying your profile.

Hope this helps

Im giving PeteH2 a star for that one - right to the core of the issue...NDPS is "Novell Distributed Print Services". If your admins are controlling your profiles at logon - this can easily happen..expert post, PeteH2!

Sorry for not getting back till now, but it took this long to track down and figure out the problem.

We had to actually go to Novell on this one. Turns out it might have been a bug, but either way downloading the latest client from Novell solved that and some other network response time problems.

Hope that helps.
