How is the default font set in Powerpoint?

I’ve checked in \Tools\Options\ but can’t find it, and when I select \Format\Font\ the “Default for new objects” box is ticked, but greyed out, and if I alter the font size it changes, however, when I restart Powerpoint, it’s returned to Arial 18. I’ve also had a look through the registry without any luck.

I’m sure it must be something simple and I feel like such a muppet for asking. Does anyone know?

There is a Design Template called "Blank Presentation" - you open that, modify it to whatever you want, and that is the default template that is used by powerpoint.
