Can you change the default folder that is expanded when you open Windows Explorer?

In Windows 2000, it seems the default is set to the current user's "My Documents" folder. Is there any way to set the default to expand the "My Computer" object, so that all local and network drives are available in the leftmost window?

Thanks
Ian

Thanks! Sorry to bother the forum with such a stupid question.

IanGlinka,

There are many occasions when it's only stupid if you don't ask. I'm sure others who have been asking the same question have just visited the site as well (but they're not telling anybody).

My great grandfather used to say: "It's not common sense until you've experienced it. And sometimes you have to do it twice before you understand your mistake."

We're not all guru's on this forum and I've personally learned a lot from reading the responses from many of those who have a lot more experience at doing this. I'm probably fortunate that many of the questions that go through my mind have already been seen in these forums.

To those responders who know what they're doing...please keep responding, you have no idea how much help you've been.

There is another way to do it. Go to the winnt folder and find the SECOND explorer (the one after explorer.exe) do a right mouse click and select create shortcut then drag and drop or cut and paste the shortcut to the desktop and when you double click the shortcut it will open windows explorer with the C drive expanded just like win 95 & 98. plus you do not have to go through start-programs-accessories just double click the desktop shortcut.
