Hey guys, I'm super new at phone systems. So first I'll tell you what I have and hopefully it's enough for you to help me!

Panasonic KX-TD1232 / TVS100
Programmator 1.31.4

I've been trying to use the Panasonic Tools to no avail so I've swapped to Programmator and it seems relatively easy. As I said I'm new to this so it's all foreign, I know the extreme basics. ( Took over a phone system he has had for ~13 years.)

For some reason when someone calls in in night mode or AA picks up on day mode if someone dials "0" for an operator it goes to ext. 101. I need it to go to 141, and if this person doesn't answer to rotate through 2 different extensions and then to the general voice mail.

I've found the UCD settings as well as the ext groups. But I've found no way to edit either? How do I put a certain extension into a group? How do I edit who the default 0 extension goes to? I have changed the settings for the three extension I want to be op1, op2, and manager but it seems to not take effect.

I thought I had it working the other day however for some reason it has reverted to the old setup. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

Luke

Ok, think I got a bit a head of myself. Seemingly the OP1 setting it taking over correctly in day and night mode now! For now I've just went in and setup the phone I don't want to ring in the DIL 1:N settings as "No Rings" and setup the two phones I want to ring as a ring setting or delayed ring setting. Is this the proper way?

Are hunt groups neccessary in an office of 25 people with two dedicated people to answer phones? Looking what some advice, counseling, or at this time a therapist hah.

Ok I know I'm flooding this situation. However I'm not sure if I should be starting multiple threads or not and don't want to look too spammy. However everything is working as intended now. Well with an exception.

I'm now setting up the BGM and Hold Music. Music source is plugged in and working fine with BGM however on hold doesn't get anything? It is turned on?! Is there a hidden setting somewhere I need to know about?

Thanks for the response ironhorse. I quadruple checked 803/804 and they are both set to master source 1. The music source I know is working due to the BGM music works through pressing 1 on any phone. However when you place anyone on hold there is nothing coming through. Any other options?

have you looked in the 990 the uk units use this to select internal/ external/tone moh

I can't seem to get into the 990 from a phone. When I hit "Program + * + # + 1234" it errors out. "Program + * + * + 1234" gets me into the user programming.

I've been using programmator to straighten this inherited system out. Is there an alternate path to get to the system programming? I've also got the Windows version of the Panasonic tools v4.02A5.

Inside programmator for the Music&Pager settings it gives me these options:

"Music for calls on hold" (Drop down)- #1 master/#2 or #1 slave/#2

Same options for "Background Music". To the right of those are radio buttons to select "internal" or "external" - external is selected.

Then it has a checkbox for "External pager confirmation tone" which is checked and pager 1-4 extensions are set 196,197,296,297 and all the boxes check marked for BGM.

The BGM music works fine, just not the on hold music. I'm at a total loss as of right now! Been pulling my hair out on these issues and seemed to have straightened everything out but this. Thanks for the help so far!

990 can only be got in through *#...., if you cant get in, that means password is changed.

the 990 is 1 and 0's you would need the manaul to check where to change and may not be relevent to your system

what are you getting on hold now, the jingle or beep or nothing

Guys thanks a ton for your help....and now you get to quit thinking about a problem, as most IT/Programmers etc. have through out the day and laugh at a total noobie. I lost track of the KISS method.

I went to the server that runs various odds and ends like this hold music for us....the volume was turned down low enough that it would play fine through the speaker phones in our system, however out over a phone line it wouldn't come through. I turned the volume on the machine to ~50%......it's playing. Boy do I feel dumb.

Like I said thanks again for the help guys, reading through some of the other posts you all have helped on helped me fix various aspects of this system over the past 2-3 days. I mean that's pretty good learning what stuff does when you've never touched a phone system right? haha, thanks again.

Luke

The MOH will not work if it's going into Voicemail AA you need the program the Tranfer ring on you 1232 unit. 990 area 01 bit 1 to an "0" now it's "1".

I know this sounds incredibly stupid, sorry I'm not a phone guy yet, however how does one get into 990? I've tried program --> 990 and it says "ST Prog" on the screen. However if I try to enter 01 it does nothing?

Press next no zone, enter zone, scroll to far right goes 16-15...1.change to 0 and store.

I must be completely daft to this stuff. Wish it was server based. Is there anyways I can change it via the computer? I have programmator and the 1232e v4.0 panasonic tools on the server.

When I enter Program --> 990 it says "PGM Mode" and asks me which CO lines I want to use. It isn't system programing I suppose?

Scratch that found it, additional functions. It's set to a 1 currently. However changing it to a 0 still doesn't play the music?

Does it matter if the music source is plugged into the master or slave 1232? Currently it's in the Slave1 port. I found the hex settings you are talking about. However as I said above nothing has changed.
