Had problem with user profile. When user saved changes and exited microsoft access. Next time he logged in and opened the files none of the changes were saved. The original profile was corrupt, so it made a new one called c:\winnt\profiles\<username>.000. The default database location was c:\winnt\profiles\<username>\personnel. Is there anyway of getting back the changes made.

We run in to similar issues with saving new shortcuts placed on the desktop and next time you logon the icon is not there and has not been saved. It may be that this is related to the roaming vs the local profile and how they log on the system. But regardless, is there a reason that you need to use the default location at c:\winnt\? If not, why not set a location for everyone at C:\data or whatever you want to use and no then you should have no problems with the database.
