Morning All,

I am trying to activate a couple of new dect handsets on our MX 3300. I am trying to find any documentation or process guides on the setup process and actually activating and registering them on the controller.

The handsets are the 112 Dect universal handsets with the base station (I have already been able to use handset like the 5340 with cordless handset / headset module).

Most research I have found shows to set these up as SIP lines but a process or any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Justin

Hi all,

quick update, I have created the users on the controller as sip devices. - unsure exactly what SIP device as the 112 model is not an option...

I have also found some documentation that says the default registration code for the phones is 0000 but when I enter this code, the screen stays on registering until it fails and it goes back to the main screen. The same document also states that the registration should happen automatically when the handset is placed in the base station for the first time but this also doesn't happen.

Any info on this one or any previous steps I may be missing, all help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you have a manual for this?
I haven't set on up yet but normally you would log in to the base station and program the DECT phone and SIP details there to connect to the 3300.

I have no manuals for this, I have one that walks through the functions on the phone but not how to actually set it up.

If anyone has any manuals that have worked for this, it would be much appreciated.

on the handset the options I have are:

contacts: empty

calls: empty

connectivity:
Register: asks for passcode, no matter what is entered, it sits on the registering screen before back to home screen and showing deregistered.
Deregister: asks for passcode, no matter what I enter, invalid pin.

Settings:
Time and Date: Updated
Language: English
LED Signal: Missed Call
power save: 60s
Security: Automate key lock
: Change Pin (don't know current or default PIN)
Handset Name: Updated
Line: Empty (unable to update)
Reset settings: don't know the pin to do this.
Status:
Auto Answer: Normal
Silent Charging: off
DND disabled
Hid Number: off
Call forward: off

Audio Options is the last option. If there is a way to log into the base station, does anyone know how? I have a feeling this needs to be done from the ESM as well but unsure what exactly.

Thanks, Justin.

Thanks for that, I have found this user guide - - which has been really helpful...

When I plugged the handset in first time to test it, it was given an IP address on the Data subnet so while setting up it in the web window (accessed via the IP address assigned to the base station) I changed the IP to a static address on the Voice subnet outside the DHCP range. Since then I can no longer access the web page to make any more changes to the base station.

I have tried the address assigned from the data subnet and the static I assigned from voice one with no luck to connect.

******************UPDATE********************

I have managed to get back into the webpage for it (took longer than expected) and I believe I have registered the handset... The handset now shows with the line I have programmed onto it but I am unable to dial out... only receive an engaged tone. I have checked Class of service and believe it to be correct but may be wrong.

Also, on the extensions tab of the base station web page, the state of my extension says SIP error instead of saying SIP Registered on a working handset. I doesn't seem to have a spot to tell why there is an error and how to clear it to register properly

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi JCCDM,

If you are getting a SIP error just check to see if you have a SIP password set somewhere for that particular extension. Came across this one myself and it was just me setting up a SIP password on my MCD but not on the base station.

Generally under the syslog on the base station you can get some understanding as to why the SIP registration failed.
