I've followed the Knowledge base step by step for a provisioned installation but am constantly getting the LED 2 alternating red/ green.
I've defaulted the base, upgraded the Bootfiles and firmware (V4.1.30) but no matter how many times I go through the procedure I end up with a alternating red/green LED 2. LED 1 comes up with a solid green as expected.

The base is not connected to a network switch or the IPO at this point as I am connected straight in from my laptop for configuring.

Any thoughts?

The manual does say that it can take up to 5 minutes for a new/defaulted install for the LED to go steady. Also though its missing from the manual most people work out that the base station needs to be on the same network as the IP Office.

The 5 minute delay I was aware of and gave it well over 15 just in case.

Does it have to be in communication with the IPO to even be configured? Or is that due to it being a provisioned setup?

So I went ahead an ran the base and IPO thru a switch so they can now communicate, defaulted the unit, reprogrammed and yet there is no change in status.

I can ping the IPO from the base so I know it can see it but LED 2 is still flashing and the Base will not show a connected status in the provisioning tab.

SO you are using provisioning.
Use monitor, go to services and check the option http.
See if there is a 404 or 403 coming by.
If so then login in to the security settings of the ipo and change the password for dect.
Do the same on the mater base station.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I do not see any 403 or 404 HTTP in the monitor trace. I do see the Base IP Session but it returns a Clientdestroyed: Failure false.

I also went back and verified the password within the IPO and Base.

Some change though in that the LED 2 is now in a idle state and the device overview shows the sync as OK. Unable to subscribe phone but guessing that may be due to the base not receiving the auth code from the IPO.

I've had a couple of base stations with LED 2 alternating red/green.
It came down to that those base stations kept negotiating port speed with the poe switch.
Solution was to remove the switch and use a power injector to configure instead.

I'm using the AC Adapter on this unit but at least the unit finally went into a standby/ idle state. Unfortunately I'm not really sure what helped as all I did was go back through the programming another time and it came up.

Now I just have to figure out why it won't show a connected status in the provisioning tab. I would think a password issue but I've verified them in both:

IPO>security>Service users>IPDECTService
and
BASE>DECT>System

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

That is not the password you need to change onthe base station.
check the option "show advanced options"

This will show some more info.
There will be antoher password field.

Change both the security settings and this password.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I went ahead and turned advance options on and changed the password under: General>Provisioning>General HTTP settings and it Still shows a "not connected" status.

Monitor shows the base attempt to establish but then returns the "Clientdestroyed: Failure false" I mentioned earlier.

Then I thought maybe a port blocking by the switch but the firewall is turned off and all ports are open. Just sort of guessing at this poitn.

CAn you post a trace?
Do not forget to turn on http under services!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Here is the trace.

I learned a valuable lesson the hard way with an IP DECT r4 that would not work for the last six weeks. Sent it all back to the dealer and it worked for them.

At the step where the radio is supposed to connect to the master (itself), the message would always indicate registration time-out.

I have discovered that although the password for the unit can contain special characters, the DECT radio passwords must NOT contain any thing other than letters and numbers. I am sure that I missed the section in the documentation where DECT internal password standards were covered.

I do hate silent errors.
