Ip office 10.0.5
Ipbs2 (40) 10.0.5
3720 (33) 4.3.32

Calls are dropping while walking throughout the campus. This began happening 2 weeks ago. At that time we upgraded to IPBS2's from 6.0.23 to 10.0.5 in hopes that it would resolve the issue.
As a precaution, the VCM32 card has been replaced.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Is it happening at only certain handoff points? What is the dB loss in that transition area? Set the phone into test mode and walk through the areas that calls are dropping and see if they drop below -68dB. Under -68dB the phones look for a new base station to connect to that's -62dB or better.

Sounds like one or more basestations are out of service.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Set the codec within the base stations to G729 reboot the IPBS and set the codec back to G711. After another reboot it should work. You can also go back to 7.2.24

we had the same issue with Dect R10.
Go back to 7.2.28 FW

Hi Guys

Switching the codecs and the reboot has helped with the hand-off. However now my 3730's (2.1.4) are having issues. They will register successfully but then drop and the IPEI will disappear from the master. I am running the system in provisioning mode. I have since rolled back the firmware and boot to 7.2.28

Thoughts?

You could try turning off Provisioning mode, I have many DECT R4 installations out there and none use Provisioning as I find it worse than non provisioning mode.

And I only use provisioning mode as it gives a lot usefull features, i rarely have a problem with DECT R4.
We have 70 customers with multicell DECT R4 and most of them just works fine.

also maybe not enough base stations or repeaters installed

Like i said before, look for basestations that are missing.

William Akerley, i had the same and a downgrade to 2.0.9 ( the 3730) fixed this.

I can confirm this being an issue in 10.0.5 I have 50 basestations and no handover. I downgraded one location and on that location the problem is now gone.

Had this also today with 3730 and ipbs2 10.0.5
Downgrade to 7.2.28 fixed the issue

I still having the issue with the 3730 loosing there registration after the upgrade.
Lucky that they only have two of those now, the rest was still registered.

They fixed it and it is released with 10.1.3 and as a separate download as 10.0.5 is still the dect version that comes with 10.1.3
