Hi,

OK we are about to install an IP Office in a Care Home with DECT being a big part of the solution.

There is a door connected to an Analogue Extn and the EXT O/P port, we normally set up a button on the phone to release the door. But we have never had to set this up in conjunction with a DECT Phone (3720 and 3725) What is the best way (simplest) way to release the door?

1) If the Door calls

2) Just release the door

Let the doorphone call a group of extension that should open the door.
When answered on the dect phone then open with a code that is set on the doorphone.

Do not forget to turn on DTMF on the dect phones!

I noticed that on the distructions, I got the impression you needed to enable the DTMF Tones for every call. Is it a one off or per call? If it is per call that's a pain.

Will dialling *41 release the door during the call or is it a separate call to the short code after the received call from the door required?

You need an advanced charger or AIWS so you can send a template to the phone.
In this template you need top turn it on.
But then it will be always on.

OK Thanks,

Is there a way to program a hotkey for the door realease using this?

Only on the 3725 this is an option but i think you can but why?
The doorphones rings a group and then you just need to program the doorphone to respond on a DTMF tone.
You could just use one numbers.

Hi,

The Door Release is on the back of the IP Office (Extn O/P) so a Shortcode is required to open it (*41 as per default). The system is not using VMPro either. All the desktop phones have a button programed to open the Door. Even if the Receptionist is on another call she (or he) can press the button to open the door. Without a incoming call from the door. Hence a Button / Hot key would be preffered. Not to mention frequent changing staff so simple is key.
