Afternoon all,

Now have I my 24 up and running, but can't get the DECT to work.

I have plugged a GDC-400 into the WTIB board, but there is no sign of life in the 400 (don't they have any LED's?) and even though I've read the manuals I can't see how to get the system to talk to the 400 or even see if it works.

Cheers, Jez.

Hi Jez,

The ipLDK 24 or Nexer as its some called does not use the GDC-400B base station.
The base you will need is a GDC-100B

Steve

Oh, I was working off thread1613-1620465, which says.

1. (Internal LG DECT)
Add one WTIBE board and up to 4 DECT bases of the type GDC-400B.
This kan gvie up to 12 DECT handsets - and up to 8 channels.

Would this explain why I have the system subscribing, phone searching, but it the subscription fails?

One other question, I'm using tails to connect the RJ45 off the back of the boards to the phones..

For the main handsets I use secondary ones, but which type would I use for the DECT basestation?

Cheers,
Jez.

Hi Jez,
The GDC100B base station needs a single run of unshielded twisted pair cable (CAT5 cable is recommended) - The base uses a pair (2 wires) and needs to be straight through, keep the same polarity.

On the Bases station and the WTIB the RJ-11 connector pins connect using pins 3 and 4.
When using "tails" - make sure they are secondary - so no capacitors or other components inside..
Best option is a single run of CAT 5 cable with an RJ11 on each end

Regards
Steve

Rereading doktor's post I've just twigged that I have the WTIB card (not the WTIBE card) that I'm trying to get working with the GDC-400B.

Are they compatible?

Cheers, Jez.

Hi Jez

If you can send a photo to my email box (savedmessage at hotmail dot com) then I can write to you wheater you have the WTIB or WTIBE.
If you pull/re-insert cards out of the LDK-24 then remember to disconnect the mains before.
The WTIBE uses GDC-400B DECT bases and the WTIB uses GDC-200B DECT bases. Handsets can almost be of any make - Siemens GigaSet are preferred here in our country.

It is the WTIBE board, giving you the possibility to install 4 pcs. of DECT basestations GDC-400B and connect up to 20 DECT handset.
Try eBay, where it should be possible to find GDC-400 B bases.

Thanks Doktor,

I already have a GDC-400 base station.

1) how do I know it's working as there are no LED's on the base station.
2) how do I get it to register a handset? Tried to register a konftel omnisound, but that failed.
3) there are GDC handsets on eBay, but which Gigasets do you recommend?

Cheers, Jez.

First the WTIB(E) must be installed and programmed:
From the attendant console e.g LDP-7024.:
1.
First press [Trans/Prog]+ 0# + flex button 6 + and enter PARK code (see PARK label on MPB (14 digits)) + [HOLD/SAVE].

(PARK code is 14-digits and always start with 3110 ...... (entered correctly!))

2.
Second press [Trans/Prog] + 0 # + flex button 3 + 1234 (AC code) + [Hold/Save].

(First PARK - then AC code)

3.
Register the DECT phone - from the operator:

From attendant console:
[Trans/Prog]+ 0 # + flex button 1 + extension number + 2 + [Hold/Save].

4.

From DECT phone search for the ipLDK system PARK code 3110....
and regiter with the AC code, which is 1234 in this example.
Nice and easy!

Addendum!

It can be necessary to manually enter the PARK code from some DECT handset models:
so:

4a.
From the DECT phone search for the ipLDK system PARK code 3110....
and regiter with the AC code, which is 1234 in this example.

4b.
From the DECT phone go to the subscription menu. Here (for some models) enter the ipLDK systems PARK code 3110....
Now regiter with the AC code, which is 1234 in this example.
Some DECT handset require that the AC (or PIN) code is 0000.
This cooresponding AC/PIN code must then be set in the ipLDK systems WTIB(E) board.

Hi there

1) how do I know it's working as there are no LED's on the base station. -> There is just look on through the holes for the wall-plugs.

2) how do I get it to register a handset? Tried to register a konftel omnisound, but that failed. -> Check the 2 last posts.

3) there are GDC handsets on eBay, but which Gigasets do you recommend? -> I use Siemens Gigasets - any kind.

Lots of Hair Pulling on what should be simple!!

rechecked the set-up using doctors posts above and it all checks out correctly, therefore the problem looks to be the Basestation. I have partially opened the case and there are no LED's on.

I've tried various different phone leads, but none make any difference.

Looking through the hardware manual I presume that this is Digital (DECT), so I should be using pins 4&5 coming out of the WTIBe (Is this correct?), but what pins are connected on the basestation end?

Cheers,
Jez,

Hi Jez.

You need a 4 -wire cable. With RJ11 bell connectors in both ends. The 2 Wires are for signalling and thother 2 wires are for power.
So, 4 wires / leads in stead the 2-wire, you have tried with.

Thanks Doktor, does the pin configuration matter?

Jez.

Bought some RJ11 plugs and made some cables.

Straight through cable (Pins 2>2, 3>3, 4>4, 5>5) got the LED working on the base station, but still no joy getting the konftel 200w talking to the LDK24.

Set both off in a search with the right Oark an Pin codes, but both fail after about 3 minutes.

I'm going to buy a Gigaset to see if that breaks the deadlock!

Jez.

Konftel 200w is a conference telephone, that is GAP/DECT compatible, so it should work.
It also is possible to use the konftel 200w own DECT base

Hi Jez

I double checked this "how-to-do" DECT in ipLDK-24 - and this text below is the correct way.
The cabling should be 4-wired straight from an RJ11 to an RJ45 connector.
The handset to be registered should be set into "registration mode" and the AC code should be entered.

So when cabling and programming is OK, then procede with the registation.

DECT numbers in ipLDK-24 start with station 30 - and the station type is seen im PGM105 (should be WHTU).
Only assign DECT handsets to numbers labeled WHTU in PGM105.

Here is the "How-to":

First the WTIB(E) must be installed and programmed:
From the attendant console e.g LDP-7024.:
1.
First press [Trans/Prog]+ 0# + flex button 6 + and enter PARK code (see PARK label on WTIB/WTIBE/MPB (14 digits)) + [HOLD/SAVE].

This corresponding AC/PIN code must then be set in the ipLDK systems WTIB(E) board.

Any luck.
If it fails, then let me know.
Check if the PARK key has been entered correctly (also stars (*) should be entered).
Write the type and make of the DECT handsets, you try to register.
