DECS problem when upgrading to R6.0.1

We just upgraded our domino server from 5.0.8 to 6.0.1 and our DECS connections aren't working. We have a number of connection documents configured through DECSADM.NSF and we can open the database after running fixup, compact, and updall... it just doesn't want to initiate the connection document needed for each connection. It says connection document not found. (or something very similar)

We didn't update all our databases to 6.0 just yet since our users clients haven't been updated. We would like to be able to revert back to 5 if necessary.

Does anyone have any suggestions we could look at?

I'm not a big DECS person, so I can't help alot there.

What I can tell you is that the ODS of the server has nothing to do with the ODS for the client. You can compact them to convert them to an R6 ODS and, re-compact them back to R5 ODS if this causes problems.

The ODS only relates to how Domino handles disk writes with the system. Even if the server is ODS 43, R5 clients will still maintain an ODS 41.

IBM has indicated to me with an issue that I was having that the ODS of the DB should not matter... but it did.

We ended up compacting the entire directory and this fixed the problems. Decs was trying to connect some R6 databases to R5 databases into our Chips production system. The mix in ODS levels made it unstable.

We don't have any of the problems once we did this.
