Dead Extension // Port on 008 MLX 1

Hi,

A user reported intermittent power failures on his phone. I replaced the phone, but the new one lost power after 24 hours. I plugged a phone and line directly into the port on the 008 MLX and all I hear is a quiet clicking for about 3 seconds. All 7 of the other mlx ports are functional. From the mlx 20L status for this extension shows that it is not on maintenance. Any tips on where to start troubleshooting further? Is this 008 MLX module dying? Thanks!!

It could be a bad port. You could try unplugging the phone cord from the actual port, power the system down, wait a few seconds, then power the system back on, and finally plug the phone cord back into the port. If the port took a shock of some sort this could fix it. If it is still bad, it is probably a bad port on the system. They do go bad.
