DEAD ANALOG TNS

SINCE BEFORE OUR UPGRADE TO SUC 3.0 MY 81C HAD MANY DEAD ANALOG TNS. RECLAIMED QUITE A FEW BACK AFTER THE UPGRADE. NOT SURE WHY.NOW IM DROPPING PORTS AT AN ALARMING RATE DUE TO STATIC OR PLAIN DEAD (NO BATT). ANYONE ELSE EVER HAVE THIS?

no when i went to rls 3 i didn't have that problem. the no battery sounds layer one, lose connection on the back of the switch at the amp.. here's my patch level, just in case

HARD TO BELIEVE LOOSE CONNECTIONS BECAUSE BAD PORTS POPPING UP ACROSS THE BOARD.LOOSE CONN WOULD BE WHOLE CARD NOT JUST SCATTERED TNS,RIGHT?

your right not usually scarttered but the top or bottom of a plug can cock and cause a partial card usually the 1st 4 or 5 or the last 4 or 5.. i've never had more then a single bad analog tn that was not a card. i've got 1 in my 81 c now and it's either the backplane or a bad pair in the switch cable.. either way you problem is unique, no pattern at all.. all groups and loops?

THATS CORRECT....MY VENDOR FOR THE UPGRADE SAID THE BAD TNS WERE FROM CORRUPT DATA AND COULD BE FIXED BY NORTEL. IVE ALREADY TRIED DIFFERENT CARDS AND SAME RESULTS IN SAME SLOT. I TOO SUSPECTED BACKPLANE/CABLE. HAVE U EVER HEARD OF THE CORRUPT DATA THEORY?

Check the AMP connectors on the back of the IPE shelf.

mluckie1, read the post.. (ha) could be corruption. why the heck did your vendor tell you it could be fixed and not fix it!!! not very likely, during the upgrade if corruption was suspect, i would have backed up to the old rls and called nortel, if a cold restart didn't fix the problem
